Origin story

GEO practice since 2022

Founded by Victor Karpenko (founder and CEO). Per Karpenko's own account, the agency has been testing AI search tactics since 2022 — earlier than most peers in this research. Headquarters is disputed: CB Insights and G2 both list Miami, FL, while a press release and a third-party roundup list Orlando, FL.

Our take

Best for: Teams wanting genuinely early AI-search testing experience, comfortable verifying claims independently.

SeoProfy has one of the longer, more credible AI-search track records in this set — founder Victor Karpenko says the agency has been testing AI search tactics since 2022, earlier than most peers, and that shows up in real published research: their own Google AI Overviews visibility study, and a compiled guide on how ChatGPT is reshaping search. The named case studies hold up too, with a 209% organic traffic lift and a 10x increase in website visitors for two different clients. The thing worth flagging directly: SeoProfy's own blog post ranking "top GEO agencies" — which includes SeoProfy itself — cites a 4.9/5 rating across 450 Clutch reviews. The actual Clutch page shows well under 100 reviews, and their G2 profile shows zero. That's exactly the kind of self-reported number this whole site exists to catch.

Good fit if

  • You value genuinely early (2022) AI-search testing experience over a recently-added service line
  • You want published original research (AI Overviews visibility studies) alongside case studies
  • You're comfortable verifying claims independently rather than taking their own stats at face value

Less so if

  • You want a verified, large-scale third-party review base (G2 shows zero reviews despite the company's size)
  • You're sensitive to inflated self-reported statistics
  • You need a distinctly named, branded methodology rather than a general four-step process

Framework vs. execution

Described

Methodology

  • General "four-step process" applied across hundreds of projects; no distinctly branded framework name
  • Treats GEO as an extension of SEO, not a separate discipline
  • Builds "cite-ready" content components: stats, comparison tables, direct answers, attributed expert insight
  • Proprietary tools: SearchAnalytics and LinkChecker.pro

Source: agency's own site and a founder interview.

Mixed

Independently verified execution

  • Named clients (Autodoc, Preply, Jooble) with specific percentage case-study results
  • Real published research on AI Overviews visibility and ChatGPT's impact on search
  • Self-reported Clutch review count (450) doesn't match any archived Clutch snapshot (88–99) or G2 (0)

Sources: Clutch, G2, agency's own published research and blog.

A specific discrepancy worth flagging

What we found: SeoProfy publishes its own "best generative engine optimization agencies" roundup, which includes SeoProfy itself among the agencies listed — the exact self-publishing pattern this site was built to call out. That same post states a "4.9/5 rating on Clutch (450 reviews)." Checking Clutch directly across several archived snapshots shows review counts ranging from 88 to 99 — never close to 450. SeoProfy's own G2 seller profile shows zero reviews and states there aren't enough for G2 to provide buying insight. We're not asserting bad intent, but the gap between the claimed figure and what's independently checkable is large enough that it should factor into how much weight you give any other number on their site.

Original research

Published a Google AI Overviews visibility study (finding their tracked presence in roughly 20% of Google searches, up to 37.2% in some countries) and a separate research guide on how ChatGPT is changing online search, compiling data from OpenAI, Statista, and Semrush.

Reviews

Clutch, ~99 reviews (most recent snapshot)

Mostly positive: clients cite deep technical audits and effective link building. Recurring criticisms include inconsistent AI-generated content quality and, in a few reviews, overcharging for backlinks or missed deadlines.

G2 seller profile

Zero reviews recorded; G2 states there aren't enough reviews to provide buying insight, despite SeoProfy being in business over a decade with a 100+ person team.

See the discrepancy callout above — SeoProfy's own blog cites a Clutch figure well beyond what either Clutch or G2 actually shows.
